{dreaming of} rewearing bridesmaid dresses

Anyone have a tea-length, strapless satin number from a stint as a bridesmaid?  Although that's not one in my personal collection, I know quite a few who do.  I have nothing against this dress (it photographs well, it comes in tons of colors, it tends to flatter lots of body types, it's usually affordable, etc.) but it is really hard to wear a satin dress again.  The "typical" bridesmaid dress is usually a wear-once-only piece in spite of the bride's good intentions.

This last weekend, I challenged myself to make a previous bridesmaid dress work in a more casual setting - a friend's wedding shower.  I've found the trick is to take the dress and add some accessories that do not immediately match the dress and therefore avoid the wedding party look.  I'd love to see how you re-wear your wedding party attire!
These accessories are all $100 or less.  Clockwise from top left: dressearringsbelt, high heels
