{familiar face} david brenner

I am happy to introduce the first of a couple men (we've got another in August!) to again grace the Familiar Face column: David Brenner.  David's got a talent for making things grow, and his young business has been built around that.

Describe yourself in three words.
Just, dreamer, philo-dendron.

How has design influenced the way you work?
Design plays a role in every aspect of my business from presentation/promotional material, proposals, irrigation systems to the actual living plant compositions.  To me, a well designed system is not only beautiful but also functional.  I don't think you can go wrong if you begin the design process with nature as your guide, which always finds the perfect balance of the two.

What is the paper good you can't live without, practical or otherwise?
Passport.

David's work can be found all over the San Francisco Bay Area.  He and the team at Habitat Horticulture have been working hard and some of their recent work can be seen at the California Academy of Sciences.  When David is not working on these living wall installations, he's usually among friends communing with nature in other ways.
